Ground Beetle

Ground beetles are typically black, shiny, and range from 1/4 to 1 inch in length. They have elongated bodies, ridged wing covers, and thread-like antennae. Their legs are adapted for running, making them fast-moving predators.

Ground beetles are generally solitary and don't infest homes. Their presence indoors usually indicates they wandered in seeking shelter. You might find them near doors, windows, or in garages, especially after heavy rain.
